This Friday I am going to join the proud students of SPSEA at their conference in State College. It is exhilarating to be able to work with young, aspiring teachers. It is especially wonderful to work with those who truly understand that importance of working in a collective manner. The longer I work in education, the more I become concerned with the power of assembled and unified voice. Teaching is a unique profession that allows us a power that many do not have and I am so thrilled to work with other young people who understand that and can disseminate that information to others. This Friday I hope to help pre-service teachers find their voice as a first year teacher and association member and bolster in them the confidence to speak up, advocate and look to other teachers when help is needed.
